This project, conducted in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Ryan Snyder Associates, seeks to measure the performance of the transportation system through a series of livability measures. The scope is not entirely limited to the transportation system, but the consequences therein and other measures of livability such as access to parks. These measures are grouped into broad categories of transportation, safety, economics, and environment. Overall, the purposes of this effort are to document the current conditions for the City’s bicyclists, pedestrians and transit riders, make explicit the safety, health, environment, economic and equity impacts of the transportation system and to make public this information to decision makers and community groups within the city.
